Position Description
We are looking for a dependable, enthusiastic, and warm-hearted person who is passionate about working with children and committed to their ongoing learning and development. The successful candidate should have experience working with young children and possess strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team of educators.
Job Title: Senior Educator – Preschool & Before and After School Class
Full/Part Time: Full Time
Regular/Temporary: Regular
Hours:
Varies within the hours of 7:30 am and 5:30 pm
Wage:
Ranges between $20 per hour and $22 per hour, depending on certification and experience.
Please note that this range excludes the $4 BC Wage Enhancement, which will be received
by candidates for each hour worked.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the classroom.
- Supervise and coordinate staff, trainees, and volunteers.
- Assist in onboarding and training of new employees.

Develop and implement childcare programs that support and promote the
physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. - Maintain daycare equipment; order supplies and equipment as required.

Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and
well-being of children. - Knowledge of BC Daycare and Licensing regulations.

Utilize strong computer skills for lesson planning, parent communication,
and use of childcare software applications to track student milestones and development. - Walking students to and from the local elementary school.
- Provide staff meetings and professional development opportunities for the team.
- Yoga experience or knowledge is an asset.
- Knowledge of French, Spanish, and Sign Language is an asset.
Qualifications
- Valid BC Early Childhood Educator License.

Valid Emergency Childcare First Aid certificate that meets the requirements
of BC childcare license regulations. - 2–3 years of experience as an Early Childhood Educator.
- At least 1 year of experience managing staff and working in a leadership role.

Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office, Google Drive,
and childcare software applications. - Passion for teaching children.
